'A Melancholy',

the new single from Cate Kileva available  now

 

But I only want to dance a dance with you 

And I can only feel little bits of truth

The rest is drowned awash with fate

Passed down through generations.

With this song I became transfixed by a particular piano melody that repeated and I played around with it and brought in other echoing melodies here and there to augment it. I let the song guide me at every turn and I hope I created something resembling the ethereal dreaminess I felt was possible. The result is quite cinematic in nature and also haunting and a little bit goth, like my other songs.
